Teen ApprenticeshipProgram

Whether your teen loves theatre but prefers the wings to the spotlight, or they’re an actor ready to deepen their craft, the Teen Apprenticeship Program at A Place For Us Productions opens the door to the heart of theatre itself.

Our program is designed for young artists (ages 13-18) ready to dive behind the scenes and explore every aspect of theatre. Apprentices work closely with the Creative Director and production team, gaining firsthand experience in everything from classroom support and rehearsal coordination to prop and costume management, stage assistance, and administrative tasks. This is a unique opportunity to see how a professional theatre company operates—both on stage and behind the scenes.

Apprentices are not just assistants—they are leaders and role models within our company. They help guide younger actors, maintain organization and professionalism, and ensure that every rehearsal and performance runs smoothly. They model collaboration, responsibility, and creative problem-solving.

Participants in the program will:

  • Assist in classes, rehearsals, and workshops, supporting both students and instructors

  • Organize, track, and maintain props, costumes, and rehearsal spaces

  • Help construct sets, props, or costumes

  • Assist stage management with cues, transitions, and rehearsal logistics

  • Explore areas of personal interest such as lighting, sound, costumes, directing, or arts administration

  • Learn leadership and mentorship skills under the guidance of our Creative Director, Production Team, and Head Teen Intern

  • Gain insight into the full life cycle of a production and the workings of a theatre company

This program fosters growth, creativity, and professional skills. Apprentices leave with a deeper understanding of collaboration, communication, and what it takes to bring a production—and a company—to life.

Whether your teen is passionate about acting, technical theatre, or arts administration, the Teen Apprenticeship Program is an unparalleled opportunity to learn from a seasoned Creative Director, build confidence, and develop skills that extend far beyond the stage.

  • Tuition: $200 per semester covers mentorship, materials, and instruction (Three monthly payment plans of $67 upon request).
