Announcing Our 2024 Show!

In September 2023, A Place for Us Productions opened our inaugural show, the 1963 musical She Loves Me. Now, almost a year later, we are so incredibly thrilled to announce our second musical, the award-winning 2008 Broadway triumph, A Tale of Two Cities The Musical.

Based on Charles Dickens’ classic story of “the best of times and the worst of times,” and with book, music, and lyrics written by Jill Santoriello, A Tale of Two Cities The Musical is the story of love, honor, and sacrifice in the shadow of the French Revolution. Combining Dickens’ unforgettable characters with Santoriello’s soaring songs, we are honored to be able to tell this tale of the strength it takes to survive tragedy, the power of forgiveness, and the way that unconditional love changes lives.

Our production is directed by Alexandra Rovirosa, who first fell in love with the story of A Tale of Two Cities when she read the book as a teenager, and to this day it remains her favorite book of all time. She saw the musical for the first time in 2009, and has wanted to produce this show ever since. Assisting her in directing is Daniel Thompson, whose portrayal of Mr. Maraczek in She Loves Me stole all of our hearts! Our production team and company are so incredibly passionate about this show, and we can’t wait to share this passion with you.

A Tale of Two Cities The Musical runs September 5-7 and 13-14, 2024 at The City House in Independence, MO.
