A Place For Us Productions opened our company in 2023 with the 1963 musical She Loves Me, brought Dickens’ beautiful story of love, honor, and sacrifice to life with A Tale of Two Cities the Musical in 2024, and took off on a flight of fantasy with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2025. Now, we are proud to announce our 2026 musical, Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon’s The Secret Garden, based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
The Secret Garden tells the story of ten-year-old Mary Lennox, who returns to Yorkshire from India after the death of her parents and is sent to live with her reclusive uncle Archibald Craven at his home, Misselthwaite Manor. The home is haunted by the ghosts of her past, or “Dreamers”, and is full of secrets, including a mysterious garden that was locked after the death of her aunt, Lily. Led by Lily’s ghost and the other Dreamers, Mary’s quest to find the garden and uncover the secrets of the house lead to an enchanting story of grief, loss, forgiveness, and the undying power of love and magic that the whole family will love.
The Secret Garden is directed by Alexandra Rovirosa, who counts the story as one of her childhood favorites. Joining her team is Laura Crawford as music director, and Emma Bucci-Torres as choreographer. We are so thrilled to be presenting this show to another generation of theatre goers and cannot wait to share our vision of this classic tale with you! Mark your calendars for August 5-7th and 13-16th, 2026 at The CO-OP at Shoal Creek in Pleasant Valley.

Be the first to get a sneak peek of A Place For Us Productions’ upcoming musical, The Secret Garden, as members of the cast provide musical entertainment during the tea, hosted by The Majestic Pearl Tea Society. All proceeds from the event go towards A Place For Us Productions’ The Secret Garden, performing in Pleasant Valley, MO on August 7-9th and 13-16th, 2026.
