Teen and Kids Classes and Coaching
At A Place For Us Productions, we are passionate about our responsibility and part in raising the next generation of actors and artists in Kansas City. Whether onstage or behind the scenes, our classes and coaching are opportunities for young people to develop character, strive for excellence, and get in touch with themselves in order to create true, authentic art.
Teen Performance Classes
We believe that teens have the power and potential for greatness in storytelling, and we are serious about doing our part in mentoring that potential. Through A Place For Us Productions’ unique mentorship program, teen actors will have the opportunity to learn side-by-side with our seasoned teen performers—observing their process, sharpening technique, and building confidence through collaboration. Under the direction of Alexandra Rovirosa, students will explore the emotional truth, physical storytelling, and professional rehearsal discipline that define master craftsmanship in theatre, culminating in a high quality performance.
Teen Apprenticeship Program
Our program is designed for young artists (ages 13-18) ready to dive behind the scenes and explore every aspect of theatre. Apprentices work closely with the Creative Director and production team, gaining firsthand experience in everything from classroom support and rehearsal coordination to prop and costume management, stage assistance, and administrative tasks. This is a unique opportunity to see how a theatre company operates—both on stage and behind the scenes.
Kids Performance Classes
If your child is interested in theatre, we believe that they are a part of the next generation of artists in Kansas City, and that good character and commitment to excellence begins in childhood. Our fun and engaging classes aren’t merely extracurricular activities or a babysitting opportunity - we are helping kids to grow, work together, and express themselves in their art. Our program will take them through the process of creating a show from auditioning for a role to performing on stage, under the mentorship of our team of seasoned actors and directors. With options for after school and afternoon homeschool students, your child will be able to find their home at A Place For Us Productions.
Kids Private Acting and Music Coaching
Whether your child wants to train their voice for the stage, hone their craft to nail an audition, or dive into their characters and get in touch with their inner lives in the process, our coaching classes offer students a path to further their education and gain confidence in their craft under the guidance of our expert team.
