Alexandra Rovirosa
Founder/Creative Director
Alexandra’s love for acting began at age four, when she learned that Maria Von Trapp and Mary Poppins were the same person—and that this magic was called acting. Inspired by her mother and Julie Andrews, she dreamed of the stage throughout her childhood and found her calling with her first role in 2014, igniting a lifelong passion.
She has performed in multiple shows around the Kansas City area, and previous roles include Mary Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life: The Musical” (Blue Springs City Theatre), Sister Agnes in “Agnes of God” (City Theatre of Independence), Gwendolen Fairfax in “The Importance of Being Earnest” (Metropolitan Community College), Amalia Balash in “She Loves Me” (A Place for Us Productions), Lucie Manette in “A Tale of Two Cities the Musical” (A Place For Us Productions), and Truly Scrumptious in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” (A Place For Us Productions).
Her earliest directing credits include elaborate home Christmas plays starring her siblings, a tradition that foreshadowed her future as a passionate director. Recent directing credits include Stop the Presses!, Little Women, Annie KIDS, The Importance of Being Earnest, A Tale of Two Cities the Musical, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which she co-directed with Kai Chapin and Olivia Simmons. She’s also a skilled costumer, with design credits on productions like Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, She Loves Me, It’s a Wonderful Life: The Musical, The Importance of Being Earnest, A Tale of Two Cities the Musical, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Alexandra is the founder and creative director of A Place for Us Productions and teaches music and drama at KC Music Academy and A Place For Us Productions. With 30 years of piano and 20 years of vocal experience, she brings warmth, wit, and deep musical storytelling to her students.
